Sunday Scribblings - The Photograph

This is a picture of my father who passed away from lung cancer last June. This is an important/special picture because it was taken about a week before he passed. This photo will always remind me why I don't want to smoke (I am a former smoker) and will always be what I come back to if I ever feel like I want to smoke.

This picture really doesn't represent the man he was:

From top left: My father, my sister Cory, my sister Jenny (who is also passed)
In front: My step mother Barb and Baby me....

First of all - I can see the resemblence in you & Jonah, really cool.
second - I seriously need to stop smoking.
These pictures are beautiful, even your dad's final one, because although it may be painful for you to see, it was his reality in the end.
A wonderful tribute to the man he was and a reminder that we are not invincible as we like to think.

Cancer does take a lot away, but one thing it can never take is the love you feel for your father.

Thanks for sharing!

Two great photos, each expressing the love you had for your father. Remember that there was a time when the dangers of smoking were not known. And congratulations on being a FORMER smoker.

You were such a cute little girl!!! I am sorry that you have had to grieve the loss of a sister and your father at such a young age. I am glad you quit smoking! :-)

Two pictures so different, yet each hiding its memories and a message. Thanks for this window into your world.

Yes, the photo is a stark reminder, and I hope it will help to keep you healthy, as your Dad would surely have wanted. I'm 8 years "clean" and really hope I will never again smoke, so thank you for sharing this here. It is a sad thing to have lost someone too young - your Dad and your sister. Blessings and peace to you.
