I have a new header (for now) and I have several more in the making. I found a cross-stitch font and it's super cute so I'm playing around with it.

I'm still looking for a job that fits. It's SO hard to juggle work hours and home schedule as well as keep everything clean and everyone fed.
I'm working on getting more PartyLite shows scheduled...I'm even giving away product as an incentive now (approx. $50 worth if you book a show for before Oct 31) so if you know anyone within 2 hours of me who might be interested in getting a bunch of free stuff, let them know and give them my info!!!
I'm really hoping this is going to work out for me to make the extra $200 a month we need. It's not a lot of money but our economy is going to shit and it seems no one has money these days...it's hard to have hope that it will work out. And if it doesn't, it's hard to have hope that I'll find something that will work around our schedule.

The second coming of the Great Depression????
Wtf? The whole bailout plan for the states is all effed up. I don't think it's a good idea. I don't think it's going to make much better. I really feel we're headed face first into another depression only it will be worse this time because we're a generation of I WANT IT AND EVEN THOUGH I DON'T REALLY NEED IT I'M BUYING IT. We're not used to not having things. We're used to wasting whenever.
I think this won't be pretty.

Economics is a complex topic that I'd rather leave my opinion for the professionals. The bailout plan will at least keep things level until the market catches up rather than spiral further down. Banks everywhere, even in Canada, are so corrupt. With all the decadence I see around - the ipods, mobiles, LCDs and what not(I've even seen individual family members each own a cell) - maybe this crash will cause us to consider what is most valuable: family.
I agree, I've been compiling recipes to make my own bread, canned fruits and vegetables and snacks for the kids lunches. It's scary but they made it through it before and we can do it again...I just think it will be hard for a lot of people to get over having everything they ever wanted...even if they did work their butts off for what they have. We'll have to leave the luxuries for another time and get back to basics...which is not neccessarily a bad thing.

I agree some of it is decadence, with all the ipods etc. that kids have today. But then again, there's always the popular "toy" of the decade, and we're living in the electronic age.
I do however, believe that a cell phone for a child is becoming as necessary as shoes these days. With the economy as it is, with the majority of both parents having to work, children need a safety net, a way to access their parents.
This isn't the good old days with grandparents and family members close by. Everyone needs to move to where they can make a living. Extended family, although very valuable, has sadly taken a back seat to survival.
And Bell Canada is far more corrupt than any bank - I'd prefer a world where children didn't need this life-line, but that's what cell phones are fast becoming.
Just saying....
P.S.

Don't you just hate it when someone is too cowardly to back up their comment with an identiy?
Well Boho Mom, I honestly think whoever anonymous is, took my comments about the bailout in the wrong context. Had this person read ALL of my posts in the last month they would know that I'm trying to save money so that I can stay home to take care of my family and my home and make sure that *I* am the one raising my children. But you're right, things like cell phones are a neccessity in this day and age. What if your car breaks down on the side of the road in the middle of God knows where? Strangers don't stop to help anyone anymore and if they do, can you really trust them? I'd rather call someone I know or a reputable business on my luxury cell phone and wait for someone I trust in my van with the doors locked rather than take a chance on my children and I being harmed in some way because I don't have the phone.
I'm even going so far as to make my own bread and sewing my own clothing. How much more back to basics does it get????
I hate economics, but I do like cake. So I'm going to have some now....
And thats all I have to say about that.
