1 week and 1 day...

Well I feel MUCH better now, I will be writing my birth story soon, I just haven't had time to do it yet! I have a lot to do around the house that I wasn't able to get done when I was pregnant so I've been busy with that and just feeling normal again!! I actually went shopping today and was able to do it without having to sit down every five steps!!!!!! :D

Niko is doing well, his Mama gave me an update today, he's up to 10lbs 10oz already and is 22 inches now!! He's going to grow sooo fast! Here are the two pics she was able to send me today (with more to come as soon as she gets a spare minute...haha with a newborn? spare minute?...hahaha that's funny :D)

I had an 18 hour labour from start to finish...I hemmoraged after his birth twice but they got it under control and other than being a bit iron deficient now I'm ok. Just working on my recovery and I have a cold now so it's making it seem longer. Just wanted to update quick :)

Induction Monday

I was too busy freaking out yesterday to post about my OB appointment.


I'm STILL not ready for labour (according to an internal exam) and my cervix is "not doing anything" apparently.


Yet, still I was scheduled for an induction on Monday morning at 7:30.


There are a few things that concern me with this....

1. http://www.mother-care.ca/bishop.htm Dr.'s use this method to indicate whether induction would be successful or not....

I've highlighted where I think I'm at....so that gives me JUST a score of 5...not entirely favourable for induction....

2. A number of studies have found that induction or acceleration of labour in mothers attempting a vaginal birth after caesarean (VBAC) carries an increased risk of uterine rupture. Other studies found no such link. So, which one should you beleive????

3. If I end up with another section, that will be the way I deliver for the rest of my child-bearing days....that scares the crap out of me. My experience with the twins was not a pleasant one and I don't know why in the world anyone CHOOSES to have a section if it's not medically neccessary.

So anyway, PLEASE send me some "cervical change" vibes lol...I will feel MUCH better about the induction if I have made some progress in that department...ideally I'd LOVE to go into labour on my own before then...but if I have to be induced I'd like it to at least have a fighting chance at being successful.

When I was pregnant with James, today was the day that labour started for me. I remember not doing a whole lot that day...just laying on the couch sleeping for most of the day. I lost my plug in the late morning, early afternoon and realized I was having contractions somewhere around 5 pm. I had him at 9:13 the next morning.

I'm hoping today goes a little the same way!!

I'm so tired now, it hurts to just roll over in bed. I'm irritable. I'm sure I'm NOT a pleasure to be around these days though I'm TRYING not to take it out on my family....I feel bad for them!

So, anyone who's reading, please send me labour vibes, I could REALLLLY use them right now!!!

39 weeks tomorrow...

To be honest I didn't really think I'd make it this far...the only baby I've carried longer was James (39 weeks 5 days).

Can I PUHHHLLLEEEEEEEAAAASSSSEEEEE give birth now????
